The foundation for successful clinical embryology is the ability to develop pregnancy potential human-embryos from eggs and sperm within the laboratory environment. It’s that simple; or is it? If we ask what is the “Heart” or “at the Heart” of any important process, then we allude to the most acute central issue, the fundamental core, vital and essential essence of the most important part. But, who defines the “Heart” and how do we validate it?

I defer to that great contemporary songwriter, Huey Lewis, who defined the “Heart of Rock n’ Roll” as the “Beat”. How much more insightful and precise can one be…
